Ultrasounds
Free and Confidential
After a positive pregnancy test, an ultrasound is the most important next step to protect your health and get the answers you need. While a traditional ultrasound can cost between $200 and $300, your visit and scan are always completely free at Parkgate Clinic.
Why Do I Need an Ultrasound?
We provide limited obstetrical 2D ultrasounds to give you clarity about your pregnancy. Even if you have taken a home test, an ultrasound provides essential medical information required before making any next decisions. Our sonographers will check for three crucial things:
Confirm Pregnancy Viability
Our ultrasounds help confirm the presence of a fetal heartbeat, providing you with peace of mind about your pregnancy’s progression.
Determine Gestational Age
Accurately measure how far along you are in your pregnancy, allowing you to plan and prepare with confidence.
Verify Pregnancy Location
Ensure your pregnancy is developing safely in the uterus, ruling out the risk of an ectopic pregnancy.
Ultrasounds are scheduled following a positive pregnancy test during your appointment with us.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
We want you to feel comfortable, safe, and informed throughout your visit. Here is how our ultrasound process works:
Prerequisite Pregnancy Test
Because we do not take walk-ins for scans, your first step is to visit us for a free, lab-quality pregnancy test. If your test at our center is positive, we will schedule your ultrasound appointment for a later date.
Professional Care
Your ultrasound scan will be performed by our dedicated, trained sonographer.
Bring a Support Person
You do not have to do this alone. You are completely welcome to bring your partner, a trusted friend, or a family member into the room with you.
Time Commitment
Your time is valuable. The entire ultrasound appointment will take less than an hour.
Your Results and Next Steps
Our sonographer will walk you through the scan and provide your results directly during your appointment. You will even get to take home a printout photo of your sonogram.
Following the ultrasound, our staff will advise you on the best next steps for your physical health, which includes recommending that you establish care with a local OB/GYN.
